Fred,
The seat is Original 1983 , no recover
Yes $300 with a bad knocking engine, previous owner had just installed
the following,
*New Radiator and Hoses
*New Brake Booster and Master Cylinder
*New Front Brake Calipers and Pads
*New Clutch and Flywheel
*New Windshield
It was purchased new by his Grandfather in 1982, Grandson also used it as a daily driver.
After the engine went bad , his wife said enough and made him purchase a new truck.
Old truck sat for 6 months. I stumbled on it as a "Cragslist" find, he wanted $700. I told him no way , so after 2 days he called and said come and get it.
Over the next few months I waited for some deals on GM crate engines. JEGS had a black Friday deal with FREE shipping.
Dually rear (Drum to Drum) was another Craigslist find for $300.
(Seller even delivered it from New York to my driveway for $50)
Hauled the camper for 6 months until the conversion, did well but with the Dually conversion makes it perfect for me.
Not bad for about $2900 total investment, considering the cost of a NEW Dually.
If anyone wonders why I like these old trucks here is my other pickup
