Yes, Rocky is the Rockwood 2604. This is a really tough decision for us. We thought last year we had all our ducks in a row, but having 4 dogs stopped us in our tracks. I have found a community, and maybe a second one, where the only restriction for our dogs would be breed specific...don't get me started...but with 2 lab sisters, 1 border collie and 1 sheltie mix we're good. The stumbling block is the number and we're hoping to get a true answer tomorrow. Last year we didn't get serious about this until after our yearly spring training trek. This time we started early and hope to have something positive. Our DS#1 is disabled and is an over-the-top baseball fan. Lakeland has been a great experience for all of us and he'd have baseball spring and summer, so a net gain and he's happy. Our concern with Rocky is storing outdoors and the beating it would take. Second is how the day to day life changes are going to work with both the doggies and our DS and our ability to be gone for 2 or 3 days every so often...maybe monthly if we are really lucky. Right now he still mostly capable of getting around, sometimes with a wheelchair, sometimes walking. But he's not improving, but rather losing ground. He literally HATES to camp and the only way to get him to go with us is if it involves baseball....everybody has their price, lol.
Agree, TN in the summer, especially later July and August, can be a killer. We have a rule that says "No camping in August"...just miserably hot. Why drive, set up to sit in the trailer all day and evening, break down and drive home. Not camping.
We have stayed at a couple of FL SP and they're very nice. I think the one we liked most was Hillsborough...is that the name?? Very nice!
Thanks for the feedback. We've got a lot of homework to do on this...worse than buying a trailer. Anybody want to buy a really cute, nice house with a covered RV area + it's own 2 1/2 acre lake full of fish????? Hope to have it for sale before too long.
