Camping in FL
We're seriously contemplating a move to Lakeland, FL. Know summers are a bit on the toasty size, but what is a reasonable amount of the year when you can comfortably camp. We have several side-issue...
Dog Folks wrote:Fully agree - my fist summer in Florida was an adjustment period. Camping in the summer here is great. The state park system is wonderful. Buy a cover for your TT and use it. $30 a month is a deal on storage. Don't make a knee jerk reaction to sell the TT based on assumptions. Try it out - maybe you won't like camping in the summer, maybe you will, but there are areas in FL that have temps into the 30's at night with mild temps during the day with no humidity in winter. State park CG's always have walk up sites available.
As others have said, October to May are the best months. The summer months are warm. Just make sure your campsite is in the shade and use the A/C. So it is relay a matter of just how much you want to camp.
That is the great thing about Florida life. Our sports are year round.
By the way, the first summer you live in Florida will be the worst as your body adjusts. Year two on will get easier.
