your not serious are you- please tell me your just a "troll" on this subject:h
Not really meaning to be a troll....just been around storm drains and their associated maintenance enough to know what actually ends up in them make gray water (even WITH a trace of black tank crossover) is nothing to be so upset about. - daveandvivExplorerWow, so is it illegal to wash your car in the driveway and let the soap and water run into the storm drain?
- WoodGlueExplorerThe ONLY time I think it would be allowed is during your brand new tank sterilization process. The grey and black tanks have NEVER been used and you fill your fresh water tank w/ a mixture of bleach water and you run it through your lines. That's the only time I ever dumped into the gutter in front of my house and I let the valve open after it was dark outside. I'd have been embarrassed to let the tank open during daylight hours.
Watch, now someone is going to complain about this too!
WoodGlue - 2oldmanExplorer IIOther than camping at Walmart, there's nothing as stimulating as a dumping-gray-water thread.

- buta4ExplorerNomenclature needs some clarification ...
A sewer is for toilet water, toilet solids, household liquids, etc.
What's commonly called a sewer by some is actually a storm drain for water that descends from the sky, period! ;) - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIGuess folks didn't bother to open links provided.......
Milwaukee storm drains end up in the lake......and it would be an 'illicit discharge'......meaning it is illegal.
One can argue until the cows come home........it is still illegal.
IF it were a 'sewer'.....that would be a different story.
But it is a STORM drain......not a sewer! Sewers don't use open drains in curbs on the street. - wmosesExplorer

I expect it's illegal, but really shouldn't be. The problem is, if you let folks dump their gray water, some will go ahead and sneak in a black water dump, because some folks are like that.
But gray water is not any more unsanitary than ordinary run off water in any town.
Exactly! I am sure the ordinance is there to ensure that some don't get tempted to dump black, and I agree with that approach. It's the reactions in this thread that goes me pause. - LantleyNomadIt is illegal. Gray water that has not sat in a tank maybe relatively safe but gray water that has stagnated and sat in a tank is nasty stuff full of lots of bacteria.
Putting it in a sewer is a very bad idea. - wmosesExplorer

I am shocked that people are saying that it is only grey water. These same people likely dump their grey water in the bush at parks.
I can only speak for myself of course and I hope you are not lumping me with those people you are so shocked at, because I was not saying that it was okay to dump grey water down the storm drain. I am saying that it seems a bit hypocritical to prohibit gray water while at the same time worse things are allowed to go down the drain. That is all.
