Can my TV handle this 5th Wheel?

I'm in the Yes camp as well. No safety issues at all, and the 6 spd trans should help a great deal in pulling you rig. You're probably already familiar with the gas engine power band/revving, so as long as you are OK with it, I say go for it.

Hmmm you asked the same question in a forum where those answering are 5er owner's with tons of experience and didn't get the answer you seem to want so now you are asking the same question in a forum not specifically applicable to your trailer hoping for WHAT:h ... a different answer ... some from people maybe only towing a pop up:S

IMO this is the wrong forum to get a good "second opinion" as you imply you are looking for ... I would replace that "second opinion" with maybe "rationalization".

Any basically on the 5 FW form the answer I got the most was that basically my TV is worthless when it comes to handling a 5th wheel.:?

I just weighed our trailer. With a trailer weight of 10960, we have a pin weight of 2680. Your actual pin weight will be way more than the 1035 empty pin weight. Load up your truck with hitch and family and weigh it, then you will know what your actual payload is.

That motor has what, 300plu hp, maybe even 350......what do you need, 400 hp! I would do it in a heart beat, 3.73 and all. THe 6sp tranny has a 4.10 first gear vs the old 4 sp with a 2.48. SO gears are NOT an issue.

But as noted, payload WILL be an issue, depending upon how big your family etc is. The truck chassis will handle a trailer that size just fine. If a dmax is rated higher, trust me, the wt part of the equation is NOT an issue!

If you keep it within all the ratings you can do it safely. That doesn't mean it will be any fun driving all day with the motor screaming with 10k hooked to it.

I had that exact same truck before I went diesel. Be prepared for your "gas sipper" to become a lush! 6-8mpg towing
