Can propane be on

Other then when changing out a cylinder for refill....my propane has been ON for 7 yrs.

Cool was just worried bout the gas running with no pilot. Didn't know it would shut off on its own.

Give it a try...if you get to your destination and the "check" light is lit on the fridge, then the pilot blew out and it couldn't light. You may have to add to or re-position the baffle on the burner if you have an issue with the pilot or flame blowing out. They are meant to stay lit while underway so you keep your food/beverages cold.

If we travel with food I cut on my Fridge the night before, so it's good and cold.
Sometimes I buy food at nearest Walmart on shorter trips...
Kind of nice to have cold drinks and sandwich items cold when you travel.
I have a bunch of 20# tanks, and try to always keep full ones on my trailer, and a couple of partially full tanks on my patio for home use.

A case of beer buys a lot of good will from sanitation employees who pick up grills and take the tanks to their transfer station...
I'd rather buy them beer than buy propane tanks.

Not to mention the fact that my garbage is always picked up and never a mess when they leave. :)

No pilot on the fridge unless it's really old, they are all elec ignition now. If the flame blows out there is usually a problem with the baffles around the burner. Don't leave the HW heater on while underway.

Popeye you are correct on the condensation, keep the tank as full as possible while in storage. Also good idea to use Sta-Bil as Barney notes.

Not to hijack the thread but in reference to towing with the propane on; do you ever have problems with the pilot being blown out?

This is what I do every fall before we go to Florida for the winter. I also put the recommended amount of Sta-Bil in the tank and make sure the engine has run enough to get it into the fuel lines and injectors. Then put the car on the Battery Tender and leave it there for the duration. Have never had a single problem in over 20 years. I think you are correct in the condensation thinking.
