- gmckenzieExplorerI leave mine open pretty much all the time. Even when running AC (probably should close them). Only time I close the bathroom one is when I am dry camping and running the rear fantastic fan with the front bedroom windows open. If I don't close the bathroom vent, I don't get enough air moving to cool the bedroom.
I have found soot in my bathroom this year. But we've had it bad for fires and smoke. Never seen a drop of water. - the_happiestcamExplorer

In my case I close them and then open just a tiny crack.....to prevent them from sticking to the rubber seals. (I'm hoping that one more application of silicone will stop that from happening.)
I close completely when going down the road because I have no vent covers.......and the buffeting air flow at ~70 MPH (cat 1 hurricane) can really screw them up if not closed (again with no covers). - RedRocket204ExplorerUnfortunately I have to store my TT in a storage lot. That lot is dirt. I do have vent covers but my vents stay closed in storage or I will have dust every where in the TT. It is pretty dry here in CO but I usually use the passive dehumidifiers if needed.
So, depends on where your TT is stored, humidity levels, heat, etc. There is not one solution fits all for everyone. - SCVJeffExplorer

X3 - BTPO1ExplorerLike others I leave mine open all of the time except when the air is on. When using the heater I leave one of the three cracked open. When in storage it is indoors in a secured area so I don't worry about theft. JMO
- bluie5ExplorerFirst mod I did to this TT was put vent covers on. The vents stay open 24/7 except if the heat is running. I leave them open when the AC is running to hopefully let some of the hot air out.

I initially left them open to vent the formaldehyde fumes. Now they just stay open to try to keep the temperature inside equalized with the temperature outside. - opnspacesNavigator IIIMine are under covers and open year round. I only close them when camping and running the heater. Otherwise they're open.
- VTRExplorerThis is why you purchase these covers, leave it open and let the unit breath and stay dry.
