- daystromExplorerMohican SP is our favorite as well. Just a great camping experience there and they have more than average full hookup sites too. A nice pool is a plus there too. You HAVE to book 6 months in advance in the summer though as it fills up very quickly.
A little further northeast is West Branch SP. They have a lot of full hookup sites as well and is a very nice clean campground.
Might I also point you to the group that my family camps with...The Great Lakes Popup Club (http://www.glpuc.org). This group originally started with popup campers but most of the members all have moved to hard sided units.
There are 5 chapters along the Great Lakes (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin). Each chapter has their own camp get together monthly at a different region of the state. Once a year a state chapter hosts a Rally in July. Next year it is Michigan's turn. It is great family fun and most of the members are young with family's. The Ohio chapter is meeting at West Branch SP September 13-15 for the NE campout.
Maybe we can meet up sometime?
Todd - rbtgloveExplorerIndian Lake has some full Hook up sites but you need to resaerve them in advance. Very nice Park with a nature area, playgrounds, swimming area, hiking and good fishing.

I am new to camping and looking for some good campgrounds in the central Ohio area and to meet up with some other campers in the area.
Hi and welcome! We're here in Central Ohio (Pickerington area) and we're new as well. Just 6 nights out so far.
Full hookup only eh? Well I completely understand - what I've found is that with a little conservation we can do without full hookups at least for a weekend. I don't question your preference at all and don't want to start a debate in any way. I just wanted to say if this preference is because of being new and a bit intimidated by the thought - do some research and maybe try it for a weekend. The link in my sig Ive kind of tried to keep track of my experiences so far. I think for a weekend we can do without hookups (as long as we have power for the Air!) LOL.
Ok. Sorry. To your question: Alum Creek is awesome but they only have one or two full hookup sites. a little farther away is Salt Fork State park - they have more full hookup sites. I'll be there in two weeks to see for myself.
Full hookup... There is a KOA out at Buckeye lake. Have not tried that one myself...
Lazy River out in Granville... I've driven through but never stayed. It's kinda out of the way but reports I've had from people that have stayed there are positive - ask for a site next to the creek...
The Hocking Hills are awesome! There is a full hookup KOA near Old Man's Cave but its expensive and I think you may need three day weekend stays in their busy season - and reservations. If you can go without full hookups Old Man's Cave State Park should go on your list - make reservations! I'll be there the first of October before we have to give up and get everything winterized.
Out Dayton way we sated a weekend at Dayton Tall Timbers KOA. (Nice but pricey.)
Need a home base for Kings Island - look at Cedarbrook in Lebanon... Great campground..
Stay in touch and I'll be happy to share first hand experience as I get it hahah... - Bulldog2525Explorer

I see you are Good Sam members. You should go to the Ohio

Good Sam website and contact the state director.

Keith will hook you up with a local chapter that is in your area or meets your interests. Make sure to inform him that you want a chapter that has other young families. I know there is at least one central Ohio chapter that the president is young and has young children. I don't remember which chapter it is.
Our chapter is located in Summit and Portage county but we have no young families.
There is an Ohio Samboree coming soon to Marion, Ohio on September 20-22. Attend if you can, you will have fun although you will find most of us to be old farts. The Samborees are great fun and a bargain for what they cost. The fee for the fall Samboree is $45 if you preregister and that is for the entire family for the entire weekend and all entertainment is included. Sarah Getto is the main entertainment and she is great. A lot of people have paid the full weekend admittance just so they can see her on Saturday night.
Send me a PM if you want more info or assistance. - beemerphile1ExplorerI see you are Good Sam members. You should go to the Ohio Good Sam website and contact the state director.

- prujakExplorerOur favorite is Evergreen RV Resort in Mt Eaton. Indoor swimming pool and the nicest showers you will find anywhere. Another nice one is Whispering Hills in Shreeve. A good site to find campgrounds is: http://rvparkreviews.com/
- mdamerellExplorerThe Good Sam website has a campground search feature. Putin a town and set a circle of 25 or 50 miles and it will tell you what's available. We normally stay in Wapakoneta, OH at a private "resort" we joined for the kid friendly facilities.
- camperforlifeExplorerCowan Lake, Mohican, Hocking Hills, three of my favorites.
- ExxWhyExplorerDelaware SP is just north of Alum Creek and also a very nice park.
