- ktmrfsExplorer IIto have a conversation takes a talker and listener. Fiat talked, GM immediately said flat NO, wouldn't even talk, discuss or follow up.

His unfiltered look at the industry is spot on.
FCA (Fiat Chrysler) is financially struggling. From strictly a business standpoint, Chrysler and Fiat should have both gone out of business in '09. Chrysler "MIGHT" have a chance of standing on their own. Fiat is currently dragging the joint venture down. - larry_barnhartExplorerHe also wants VW to buy them out. Jeep seems to be at the bottom of the pile at this time so what "difference does it make"??

Oh the thought of Jeep being made by GM makes my skin crawl.
Gee I remember when Jeep used the 90 degree Buick V6....one of the finest engines ever made.
I remember when Jeep was built by AMC... And then Chrysler took over.
I seriously doubt GM will partner, purchase, merge, in any shape or fiscal form with Fiat or the Chrysler Corp. division.
I believe Marchionne already posed the question to GM, Ford, Apple and perhaps Microsoft with no takers.- HannibalExplorerWas that an article from 2008? Grandma was slow but she was old!
- HannibalExplorerAside from a little confusion at the rental car agencies, I don't much of a difference.

Chrysler is always losing money. Fiat bought a lame duck from Mercedes.
Honestly, that's the biggest thing holding me back from buying a Ram with a Cummins.
All of the Chrysler products we have ever owned never lasted, or had major problems well before 120k miles were up. Pieces of crap. - thomasmnileExplorer

Besides, wouldn't this end up being an anti-trust violation with GM/Chrysler merged?
Flash back to the late 1970's when Chrysler encountered its first near death experience. While mulling over options in the event Chrysler failed to secure the Federal loan guarantees that ultimately saved the company, Lee Iacocca revealed in his autobiography contemplating a merger or acquisition by Honda or..........wait for it, Ford. It went as far as some secret discussions with Ford officials but was nixed by Henry Ford II. Iacocca had given thought to a merger with GM but believed such a deal would not pass Federal anti-trust review. - goducks10ExplorerIf it happens I hope GM doesn't mess the Ram and Cummins.
