I am saying the code that they claim says you cannot sleep for more than 8hrs or stay more than 48. The code can be found here:

The only reference anywhere that I could find in all pertaining codes was a reference to vehicles designed for less than 48 hours of use.

Depends on how you read that but clearly they read it to mean you could do the above (that is park) for 48hrs. In another section of the parking laws they say you can park for 72 hours.
What I am saying is that I could not, at any point, see any reference to sleeping 8hours or more or less than 8 hours. Perhaps it's there somewhere, but in the end they decided to leave me alone.
