- pugslyyyExplorerWhen I'm in a campground with water at the site I hook up to it. I also use a pressure reducer to avoid problems.
I also have a valve inside the camper so I can fill my tank using the shore water connection. Easier than mucking around with a hose doing a gravity fill anyways. - BumpyroadExplorerwhen you get that pressure regulator, make it a good one, watts type, not the walmart $9 special.

You do want to use a pressure valve for sure. And we add a brass tee. Since water hose hook-up is part of my job description, the other thing I do is to turn on the water for maybe 20 - 30 seconds and let it flush out anything that might have gotten into the hose - even though we hook the ends together and to at least feel that water coming in is fresh.
After being at a few CGs with poor tasting water, we added a faucet mount PUR filter and it makes a nice difference. The downside is that water pressure through the filter is slower, but we only use it to drink and fix coffee. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIBasic RV water system.......2 sources of water (city hook up & on-board pump) only one plumbing system
