Coachmen 261 bh Mine finally arrived 2018

Well I finally got my custom order coachmen sbx 261 bh with custom wall..

Coachmen started building non slides a few weeks ago.

I got to tell you this thing is beautiful..

These coachman's tow great. There is no denying that.

picked it up in PA. Was 4 hours there and back. Was a 12 hours day for me.. a bit tired..

Ill post more tomorrow.

Hit cat scale on way home. Looks like I have 600 lb TW @ 12.2%

Dealer through in matching sink covers as a gift cause I waited so long for delivery...

  • My spouse and I also liked the big window next to the dinette. Ours also has the full wall between the couch and front bedroom.
  • Yes blueridge these are nice units. I like the coachmans and dinnette on the curb side as coachmen give that nice large window.

Thats a feature the spouse and I wanted..

Although these windows are pretty large my 2003 was even larger and went as high as the roof line..

    Now that was a window...

You dont get that with coach dinnette on opposite side..
  • I guess I was lucky being a 2016 the covers came with it. I too have the full wall. They are a pretty unit. Everywhere we go people comment on it.

Oh, Sink covers are standard on Coachmen Catalinas. I,m with you on not having slides on a RV. We,ve had,em and they are a pain. Plus they add extra weight.

Sink covers are an option in 2018. I ordered my unit was actually supposed to be a 2017 but delays in the built pushed it out..So when the dealer put my order in there was no sink cover option..

The only options I had at the time was the full wall.

Other options were 15k btu a/c
    two 30 lb propane tanks.

This has the latest and greatest tpo roof.. ( I dont know is thats a good thing)

Eeeekkkk! I drilled holes in the walls the mount my two tv's. But its over and done with..

Getting some foam toppers to add to the two inch bunk mattresses..They are pretty firm . The master is like a 6" foam block. Again very firm..

Added a few brads nails to the dinette fasia kick boards ar the staples are a lot to be desired.

The shower head could of been mounted a whole ft higher. ( Im wondering how to fix that. If I move the shower head holder then ill have two screw holes there.)

I guess I need a better shower curtain..

    Still hating the windows...lol

Got a digital t stat coming...Was going to make my own with a fan hi/lo switch but I wanted a black t stat. Was only 47 bucks on amazon...

LED lights are bright man.. front wall switch turns on 4 of them. Will look into dimmer options. M4 bulbs had two options for dimmers...

HWH has an anode.. I dont know if thats good or bad... I assume its glass lined. Im a plumber and my last camper didnt have one. I assume aluminum. I drained after each use.

Tires are 81 MPH jaxxons.. They seem well made...

Currently hooking up my charge controller and invertor in the front storage bay. work in progress...

  • We have a 2016 223FB Catalina, And yes the windows suck, also I got a dinky FOAM mattress. I should of looked under the bed spread. I expected more from a Coachmen
  • Well so far all looks good.

The vertical lift windows have a lot to be deisired IMO..
Lift the window and two cheap plastic clips hold it up..

I found a hose coming from the pump under the sink with a valve. Looks like its a way I can suck antifreeze into the water pipes foe winterization..

velcroed some of the duct work under the kitchen sink and under stove as they were just hanging down.

I lifted them some so I can put stuff under there without damaging them..

Ill let ya all know what else I find..

The wood dust from the a/c ducts keeps falling some. I ran the air for a while and banged the ceiling some to get more out...lol

Coachmen has some type of duct system as no pink balls/foam.
  • I think you are very wise to get one with out slides.
I didn't know they would custom build them with out slides

From all that I read here slides are just a problem waiting to happen
