Converted ductless range hood to vented

I just went to the local RV Supply store, Evergreen RV and the guy showed me a vent and a flange thing. They didn't have part number on them but here's a link to the page in the coop catalog.

Mine is an 1860, my microwave is about the range and was easier to pull the microwave first, there was 4 screws in the trim ring. That gave me access to the wiring for the range hood so I could unhook the wires, then there was four screws holding the range hood to the bottom of the cabinet. I used the sheet metal flange as a pattern to cut the back of the range hood, I work in HVAC so I used a step bit and tinsnips. Then I traced the hole on the wall and used a razor knife to cut through the interior skin. I did find that there was an aluminum frame member on left side of my hole so my hole is a couple inches smaller that the range hood opening, I just cut the flange on the exterior vent so it cleared, and it's all good.

I have a Takena too and would love to do this. Do you have a part number or source for the external vent cap you used?

Just looked at mine.
No locking tabs. Just a hanging flap visible from inside under the hood, and it's part of the hood.
When the fan goes on, the flap opens and all the gunk blows out. When the flap goes off the flap closes. Can't tell if it's gravity operated or maybe a spring is invovlved.

I can't reach my vent flap either.

Locking tabs are on the outside and I just removed them. Glue a magnet on one corner of the flap on the outside. Glue a metal washer inside the flapper area so they overlap when closed. It does not take a strong pull to hold it shut. Posting pictures on this forum is way too difficult.

Measured several times and took my time. Also after owning boats for 20 years the only scary holes are the ones BELOW the water line :) I have a roll of the butly strip caulk so I used that as a sealant

I think Andy is saying that he has the Fantastic Fan blowing into the room, not venting. This way, the fumes at the stove are pushed out the window, as you pressurize the cabin.

An outside range vent has the flapper tap-locked for travel?
