Cougar 27RLS Bedroom TV?

I don't know about your particular trailer.

But, If you want to mount to an interior wall use an electronic stud finder to check the density of the wall. I used one to locate 1 x 2 & 1 x 3 vertical studs in the wall between the bedroom and living area. I located one that allowed the tv to be positioned at the center of the bed near the ceiling with the mount extended slightly outward from the wall and in the corner of the bedroom while not in use or when traveling. I drilled all the way through the wall and used bolts with the heads and large dia flat washers on the living area side with locknuts with flat washers on the bedroom side. It is very solid.

If you mount to an outside wall you can make a mounting board to allow multiple screws around the perimeter of the board to distribute the load over a large area. Use T-nuts from the back side to bolt the mount to the mounting board.

The stud finder when moved around also showed me there was a piece of plywood between 2 of the studs where the folding tv shelf was screwed to the wall. I could have screwed the tv mount there to the wall, but it was too low. The top of the shelf was at the top of the plywood.

Not sure about Cougar but I have seen a sticker in many RV's showing where a bracket should go....if there a shelf where the "outlet/jack" is located? If so it has to be attached to something strong enough to hold a TV!!!!

You would do something like this once you found the studs. Reinforce the wall with half inch plywood to give the wall rigidity. You may want to cover the whole area where the TV will go. The bigger the plywood the better the rigidity.

I have done this on several interior walls of RV's. It will provide a much better surface for mounting heavy objects.

I'm LoudDog's DW and I stayed in bed for an hour thinking about this today when I couldn't fall back to sleep. Since there is an outlet and antenna coax, the manufacturer clearly intended a tv to be there. I knocked on the wall and in the center there was something back there. I think the dealer should have called their factory rep and arranged to have it done under warranty.

I have the same trailer in the 2011 model year. I just mounted a bracket on the wall shared with the bathroom, right under the TV connections. Mine came with a 12 volt connection already in the ceiling. If you tap on this wall you will definitely find the supporting structure. Used two 1 inch screws to mount the bracket, without any problem. The trailer is in storage or I would post a picture. Also, I do not travel with the TV mounted on the wall.

There was no sticker for mount tv here. Most of the other rv's we looked at had that.

I have a 2012, same model as yous. There is a sticker on the wall stating where to place the TV mount on mine. Right by the ac outlet and antenna.

Thanks ... I contacted Keystone and they said there's a mount there, a stud finder will do the job. We were wondering if the dealer took the sticker off so they could charge the "hundreds of dollars" to supposedly "take the wall panel off and look for the TV mount". Even though they know where to mount the TV, we think it's a game they play. When we picked up the trailer the service guy that did our walk through said he's never heard of such a thing and couldn't believe we were told that.

We did end up mounting a TV there, but the screws stripped out a few times when my DH was installing the bracket. He relocated a few times, so it's in, but we don't leave the TV mounted when traveling in case it's not that strong of a support.

Can you post a picture of where you mounted it? I have the exact same model and I'm planning on putting up a 19" LCD in the next day or two. I was planning on putting it on the wall to the right of the door going into the bathroom. There is a stud there that I can see a couple of staple holes where they attached the luan (sp?) wall. Any help you can pass along is appreciated.

We installed on that same wall you are planning to. Our TV cannot stay up there during travel, the wall isn't quite strong enough to support the bounce.
