Cracked Shower/Tub Floor

I have crack on the floor of my tub/shower. I am 3 months past the warranty on my trailer. Go figure!

The crack is next to the drain. It is about 3 to 4 inches long with smaller cracks coming off the main one. Any ideas on how to fix this (fiberglass repair kit, Eternabond, etc.)?
  • replace it… that is the easiest and best fix to avoid rotten floors down the road…

    they are not expensive…

3 months out of warranty? I would be pleading my case strongly with the mfg…
  • I'd recommend you concentrate FIRST on how to prevent it happening again. Any repair you make will be less solid than the unblemished tub/shower. Sounds like they didn't do a good job of installing support for the floor so I'd pull the old shell and fix the support issues THEN determine how you want to fix or replace the tub.
    Good luck / Skip
  • Our shower floor flexes around the drain also. I suspected what it might be and removing the access panel to take a look confirmed it.

They leave the area around the drain, and from the access panel to the drain, unsupported for maintenance and (go figure) repair access. It looks like an easy fix. A 2x4 brace and a small piece of plywood should do the trick. I need to get it done before mine cracks also.

    Good luck with yours.

Most RV dealers have a crack repair kit. It works well, IF you follow the instructions.

The other issue is flexing of the tub. We have replaced two tubs before we received the information, from RV.Net members, of course, that maybe the supports were no letting the tub sit flat on the platform. In our case that was the problem all along. The tub was flexing with every use.

    Hope this helps.
