I had Ford's Supercab before going to my Ram crew cab. We have dogs that take up the rear so a standard cab is not an option for us. You will find there is limited storage in a truck camper verses something you would tow. That extra space behind the cab may be handy for items you want keep out of the weather and not clutter the camper. With the extended cab, I had overhang that came just before the wipers when parked. I am tall and never had sight line issues, but that may be different in a standard cab or if you sit lower. Because the overhang will extend over your hood, you may have clearance issues with your radio antenna and reception may be worse. If you have built in GPS or satellite radio, expect to have to add or relocate your antenna to get a signal (the GPS antenna at the base of the windscreen on my extended cab was fine). I hear you about turning radius - The F550 Supercab option was a plus over our 5500 crew when we were deciding. We ended up going from less than a 20' truck to 23' plus the two additional feet of TC overhang on either.
