DEF, even dumber and blind too.

When I had put gasoline in my diesel I pumped the contaminated fuel into a couple gasoline vehicles to avoid wasting the fuel. A little diesel in your gas engine isn't going to hurt anything.

I did try once, pump with both diesel & gas. Standing there with diesel nozzle in hand, hitting the 87 button and wondering why the pump won't turn on.:S

People do it...offhand, Car & Driver (I think) filled their long-term Subaru Legacy GT with diesel fuel a few years ago.

There are NO color standards for what color the handles on the pump are for diesel and gas.

There is one station that bright green means diesel and visually you KNOW which one that is and there really is no chance of mistakenly grabbing it.

Then there is another station where the green handled ones are gas. :R

So if you've been fueling up at BP for the past week on the road and then pull into another gas station it's really easy to just grab the wrong pump handle.

Does DEF colored cabs vary from station to station?

I dunno. I never seem to hear gasser owners complaining because they put diesel in their tank by mistake. Maybe people should just pay more attention. In my part of Canada, most diesel handles are yellow.

Lot more places to go wrong under the hood my friend. And maybe give the link for failure rates for the Ford and GM's. It's not there cause GM is covering theirs and Ford.... hasn't been. The fuel door is the most logical position IMO. That tank below the curb side front wheel isn't what I'd hope for! Great truck otherwise

We have a few Silverados in the Border Patrol and had to replace the DEF tank because it hangs so low to the ground!

Having the DEF fill under the hood just helps keep you from putting diesel in it.

Putting DEF in diesel fill is easily done.........so is gasoline.

I do wish that there was a color standard for fill nozzles
Black for gas
Green for diesel
Yellow for DEF
Red for off-road diesel
Pink for E fuel

Any color......just a standard that ALL stations had to follow.

We used 35% Urea in boilers for Nox control
That stuff is nasty.....very corrosive
But will green your lawn up dang near over night.
