There is plenty of blame to go around but the government deserves the greatest share. From imposing costs on American manufacturing through well meaning social legislation without tariff protection from unregulated foreign competition to overly complicated taxes and regulations our government has very actively run manufacturing out of this country.

So old thinking...maybe okay before American Corporations (not the government) decided back starting the 80's to outsource manufacturing...then engineering/design...then whole product line design/engineering/production/etc...but not America has lost the ability to manufacture most of the basic materials/components/sub-systems/systems/etc...therefore dependent on our 'supply chain'...which is from offshore where 'we' outsourced it to...
Since 'they' are manufacturing most of our materials/components/sub-systems/systems/etc...'they' are now R&D'ing more and better than we can here in America
Don't blame our government...blame our corporate management, and they only did this both for personal greed and the stock market that kills the share price by dollars if corporations miss the 'target' by penny's
There really are no long any borders with regard to manufacturing/products/etc...
But this is not an absolute...there are 'some' manufacturing here in America and it is starting to grow in the cottage industry level

We need to stop allowing Countries to import their products here that don't have the same or stronger Labor and Environmental regulations as we place on our Industries.
I bet you people that are so anti Diesel just keep on buying products from these Countries that have ZERO regard for the air we all breath.
I completely agree. If they want to sell their products here, then they have to meet the same environmental and labor laws making their products. This is one good thing about the new US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement. All have to meet certain labor and emissions laws for it to be tariff free. I bet all those tree huggers would be pissed if this happened because that would mean their beloved Apple i-phones would be hit with massive tariffs because of the suicide sweat shops China uses to make them.
You should also have the same standard amongst all industries, but that would mean Elon could not blast all of his rockets into the air if he had the same emissions requirements as road going diesels. I bet he would lobby to change the rules for him just like all those other rich hypocrites do so that they continue doing what they want.
U bout a sweetheart aren't you Shiner
in one answer you used
Tree Hugger
Rich Hypocrite
You People
come on keep 'em coming, lets demonstrate to all what an inclusive, nonjudgmental group we RV'ers are!!!:)

Another usual tedious thread that centers around people with the 'I'll do what I want and heck with others', because I can thread.
How nice.
Have at it. I'm on the side now, reading along and chuckling.
I am pretty sure you would do the same if you thought the corrupt activist government officials made irrational and biased laws and regulations about the 2nd amendment like I do with what the EPA officials like Carol Browner has done with some of the diesel regulations. Or would you just comply and hand over your guns because the guvment said it was best for you?
Keep in mind she was one of the ones that said Flint's water was okay to drink because she was trying to cover up her own activist decisions.
I don't really want to comment but I will on this. What you read and what it REALLY is, are 2 entirely different things. I know because I live near Flint and you don't.
I'm done now.
