diesel cost !

We have been paying right around $3 a gallon on the Oregon Coast for the last several months. In Phoenix ( where we're from ) has been $2.20. I'll take the cool 60 degree weather over 118, but we figured it has cost us an extra $1000 since we've been here.

The difference between $2.59 and $2.19 is not " just pennies", and is a $.40 per gallon difference which is a quarter, dime and nickel. Also, when was the last time you just put a few gallons in your tank? So why look at it as per gallon rather than in tens of gallons when you are more than likely going to be putting more than 20 gallons in your tank each fill up?

Which is why I said to each their own if they wish to save money or not. I was just saying that most your "just pennies" comment is false since it is way more. You quoting the $12 I stated is admittance that it is not "just pennies". Also, I am not just saying this for those with their RV's either. I am stating this for EVERYONE with a diesel loaded or not since it is true that diesel is cheaper away from major highways where semi trucks frequent.

Local area........$2.69/gas & $2.45/diesel

These prices are lower than when we bought our diesel in Nov 2006
IIRC $3.xx/gas & $2.83/diesel


And with our $0.80/gal discount...diesel was $1.65-------filled it to the brim 32.5/gal

Seeing as we travel secondary/back-roads haven't been in a 'truck stop' in 7 yrs.
Always used regular service stations or fuel stations associated with stores.

Haven't found station a couldn't get in/out of.......or a problem with the fuel.

Besides...Interstate travel is boring

I KNOW my truck and RV WILL fit at ANY truck stop. If I take a trip off the freeway to the less expensive station they may not be easy in/out! That right there is worth $12 to me!

The fact you get fresh clean fuel at MOST all truck stops is worth $12 to me.

The time saved getting off and on the freeway quickly is worth $12 to me.

I could keep going but the bottom line is my time is worth something along with all the other problems that may and do arrive when venturing into uncharted territory off the freeway.

I do agree to each their own!

$2.14 at station on I 10 about 15 miles east

Paying $2.20 U.S. A ltr here in Sydney NS. If anyone had Canada on their RV bucket list now is the time to do it.

95 cents can a ltr X 3.3ltrs for $3.24 cents a U.S. Gallon then take 30% off most gas stations on US exchange.

I paid $2.44 in Tiverton RI. 3 towns away in Dartmouth Ma, a Mobil has it for 3.39

Southern UT today, diesel was $2.35 and gas was $2.67.
