SRockhead: My mistake, Rockwood: What was the purpose of your post? My comments on the torque of the John Deere were related to torque only. I already KNOW the horsepower. You can get six HP ratings on the same engine. It is a 2 cylinder with 302.9 cubic inch displacement. Governed RPM is 1125 (eleven hundred twenty five). 5.5" bore X 6.5" stroke. Running on gasoline: 44.7 drawbar HP; 48.7 PTO (belt) HP. On Distillate fuel (similar to stove oil) 32.7 drawbar, 35.7 belt. On LPG 45.9 Drawbar HP, 50.3 belt HP. The one in the pull was running on gasoline. There was a little smoke with distillate fuel, and there is no LPG tank on it, Now maybe you can "reverse engineer" your formula and figure out how much torque is lifing those front wheels off the ground at near idle RPM. And those old "two poppers" would pull down to the last Revolution.
