OK folks, there have been a few to many diesel vs gas threads that have shall we say gone to "Hell and a hand basket"! So if all of you would put in you BEST, no flaming reasons for going gas vs diese...

The major problem with any diesel for my purposes is that the daily work commute does not entail any freeway milage. It's 19 miles one-way on county roads with a stop sign or stop light every 2-3 miles.
The major problem with any 350/3500 series truck is that they inherently have a much harsher ride than the 250/2500 series. Only about 2500 miles of the projected 14,000 yearly will be towing. The harsher ride will be a particular issue on the daily work commute, which will be more than half of the projected yearly milage.
I am confused, I think....I drive 8 miles one way everyday with my 2500 CTD and don't have any problems. The highest speed I drive is 45mph. Been doing it since '07 issue free and about 40K combined mileage on two different trucks. Buy the one you like the best. Drive a diesel and a V10 and see what you like better.
