OK folks, there have been a few to many diesel vs gas threads that have shall we say gone to "Hell and a hand basket"! So if all of you would put in you BEST, no flaming reasons for going gas vs diese...

Plus you have the cost of DEF ( yes the cummins will have it too and already does), the added cost of the oil, the large capacities of everything, the expensive filters and more frequent filter changes (fuel and transmission), and the cost of repairs which seem to be all to frequent on the new breed, and I feel like Im walking into an AA meeting with a case of beer.
Unless you need it for towing, its hard to justify. But who looks at that when buying a vehicle. If that was the case we would all drive cheap fuel efficient cars. Buy what you want, what you like and what you can afford.[/quote]
Relatively new to this forum but more than a fair amount of experience with diesel and gas engines in tow rigs. You will find arguements to support both sides of this issue. The bold text from the reply quoted here sums it up the best way in my opinion. Heck of a concept if you ask me. Figure out what you can afford and live with that. If you want a bigger/nicer/more expensive tow vehicle and can afford it, go for it. Either way get what you can afford and what you like and then live with it. My opinion.
