OK folks, there have been a few to many diesel vs gas threads that have shall we say gone to "Hell and a hand basket"! So if all of you would put in you BEST, no flaming reasons for going gas vs diese...

I have towed with my gas 2002 Chevy Avalanche since I bought it 7 years ago. I originally pulled a 6800 lb race car trailer but now tow a 4500 lb travel trailer. I get 15-17 mpg if I keep it under 65 mph and their is little head wind. Until last year I towed every weekend. By the way I now have 187000 miles on the Avalanche. I would only switch to diesel if I was towing in excess of 7000 lbs, but that's my personal opinion.
