Just an opinion. The diesel trucks are lets say on average at least $10,000 more even in a used truck over a comparable gas engine model. Lets face it I can buy a lot of gasoline for 10,000. Also the weight of the diesel engine effects the hauling capacity so much. The diesel may be rated for more but it weighs more to. And the old adage that diesel last longer. Tell that to my 96 C3500...vortec 454 with 567,000 miles on the original engine. Only 2nd transmission before selling the truck. You may save a little down the road with a diesel but the added price of the truck makes up for any savings. Not flaming and to each his own.
