Yes hutchman, congrats on the new Ram! Your '06 had nothing wrong with it other than the transmission was being protected by the computer. Rams with the Cummins in those years were programmed to only use 80% of the torque until set time. Learning how to drive it is what the problem is. The 6.0 in the Ford is the same way. I reprogrammed my '05 to put 100% out as soon as you hit the throttle and it is very hard to drive (uncomfortable) You fell every little peddle movement. They really have these new trucks tuned really good now days to harness all the low end torque but still very drive-able.
The GM 6.0 gas is a very good strong running motor, they just run very hard to keep a heavy load going. I had an '02 and loved the truck and loved the way it ran unloaded........well that's about it.
