There's nothing wrong with suicide doors on ext cabs. I had them on an 04 Silverado. Double doors are just the new body style for GM on the 2014 1/2 tons and will come out on 2500HDs in 2015 (early 2014). Supposedly the double door makes the cab stronger in case of a crash or roll over and helps make the cab quieter. I can't swear to either one but that's what I've read and been told by salesmen.
