I have been saying this for years. If you are towing every week, then without a doubt, get a diesel. If, like yourself, you will be towing once every two months get the gas. I bought a diesel MH, not for the engine, but for the air brakes, air ride and towing capacity.
I should have also said that if you want a diesel and you can afford it then, by all means, get one. Life is short, you should get what you want and enjoy it. It is not about gas vs diesel in my opinion. Diesel is always going to be better, hands down. But, if you are on a budget and can get by with gas it will be cheaper to operate and maintain.
