I have posted this engine before. It is a 9 liter turbo gas engine, it is a factory produced engine with a warranty and runs on 91 octane pump gas. It is made to run high loads for very long lengths of time.
For those that think gas engines don't make big torque down low try 1300 ft lbs at 2200 rpm where this dyno pull begins.

Now remember a 9 liter gas engine fits easily in a pickup.
Do you diesel guys still think a diesel has a power advantage anywhere in the power band?
That's all well and good, but which truck manufacturers offer this engine as an option? How many are actually in use in the road? What does it cost and what kind of mpg does it get?
This motor may fit in a pickup, but as far as I can tell I can’t go to the lot and buy one. And it seems to me a guy would have a lot more than the $8k for the Duramax/Allison in retrofitting one of these in a stock truck. If $8k for a Duramax, CTD, or Power Stroke doesn’t make financial sense, this thing sure wouldn’t.
That was sort of my point earlier. When I went to the lot and compared what I could actually buy, the Duramax won hands down...for what I wanted. All the Big Three put solid gas engines in their pickups, but none of them have the power or torque of their diesel counterparts.
