Diesel vs gas......................
OK folks, there have been a few to many diesel vs gas threads that have shall we say gone to "Hell and a hand basket"! So if all of you would put in you BEST, no flaming reasons for going gas vs diese...

I'm just glad that i bought an 06....best of the Bunch and any Duramax owner will likely attest to that as well. I simply cannot see switching to an 8L gas model for similar or less TQ, and a 40% drop in mileage..even with lower prices..that won't stay low forever....but I can see the market hitting 35/bbl USD...
My take on that is this: Off topic I know but relevant.
Iran is Shia - Saudi is Sunni - they hate each other more than they hate Israel. Iran wants Nukes and with Obummer vacillating and appeasing the Iranians has got the Saudi's scared. Russia supplies Nuke tech to Iran and so the Saudi's use the only weapon they have: OIL. And you can bet it is hurting both the Iranians and the Russians....BIG TIME. A few more months and we could see major social unrest in both countries. If things go bad..and the Saudi's think Iran has a working nuke..dont be surprised to see them go to Israel for some "Airtime" help....
My take - I am an Oil Sands Worker and I approve this message..!
Back on topic .. I still think that in the long run...I will always prefer a diesel over a gas powered engine..1800 rpm cruising at 124km/hr... making 21mpg..priceless.!
