My dmax (lb7 engine)is in the shop right now having its 4th set of injectors installed at $4500 a shot. The truck has 120,000 miles on it. I am so close to going gas, its not funny. Also since I RV in Mexico where they do not import diesel Pickups, getting service down there is tough. Gas is looking better. I am towing 7000 lbs max.
WOW. I would add this: FILTER FILTER and FILTER some more...your fuel.
AirDog/FASS or a pair of Kennedy lift pumps with a Nictane filter would do wonders for those injectors.
Not sure if you have or don't have anything of the sort..but diesel is dirty fuel, the single OEM filter does not, in my opinion do enough filtering of the fuel nor does it removed entrained air from fuel being sent to the cp3.
I run a FASS, then to the OEM and finally a post OEM filter set up by Stanadyne (Fuel Manager), with a 2mU filter. Granted its an LBZ...but even an LB7 with a proper set of injectors, you should easily be getting 250k on a set...not 30k.
