After 21 years of diesels, I actually started looking forward to an engine that could rev again. My boat runs 6500rpm for hours at a time and peaks around 7400rpm. 4k rpm is a subtle purr to me. That's a very easy rpm for the engine to run. Contrary to the thoughts of those who cringe at the sound of a normal downshift and arrive tired with a migraine, my lowly 5.4L actually lives a very easy life.
