OK folks, there have been a few to many diesel vs gas threads that have shall we say gone to "Hell and a hand basket"! So if all of you would put in you BEST, no flaming reasons for going gas vs diese...

That's a 5.9 Fish. My buddies truck did the exact same thing aND it was the plug on the ECM was dirty. I cleaned the plug and has been running strong for two years now with no other issue.

My mistake... I posted the wrong link. Here's the 6.7 soot clogged EGR/DPF. Just in case anyone (place cummins9824V here) doesn't think the almighty cummins is above problems.

I suppose you're going to try to convince the folks who prefer gas power their trucks have the same problem! :R
The problem in that video is not the engine. It's the Crappie that was put on it to clean it up.
That's what I would do,keep starting it and listen to it idle and clog it even more.......
Hence the attraction to own a gas powered truck that doesn't have all the emissions junk that will cost $$$$ to repair or replace. It's just a matter of time. The engine/emissions is no better than the weakest link and the emissions is typically were the problems begin and the $$$$ start flowing.

That's one thing that is nice about where I live. I don't worry about that stuff. It's nice not having all the black soot on my boat and RV after a trip but one thing's for sure, If I have problems with mine it won't be on there.
