OK folks, there have been a few to many diesel vs gas threads that have shall we say gone to "Hell and a hand basket"! So if all of you would put in you BEST, no flaming reasons for going gas vs diese...

I was thinking of trading my 15' 2500HD 6.0L gasser for a 2017 2500HD Diesel. I bought a new Sandpiper that weighs around 12,600# loaded. My 15' actually pulls it nice, no white knuckles. I thought well a Diesel would run like nothing is behind it. Then I looked at the tow ratings and to my massive surprise the Diesel tows less then the gasser 14000# Gas Verses 13500# Diesel.
So I would pay something like $7k more to tow less, doesnt make sense to me, Yes I know the Diesel would run like nothing is hooked to it but my 6.0L gasser say's I got this, no problem. I pull through the PA mountains and never had to put it to the rug.
