The OP didn't say anything about a "clean" black water tank and was only asking if dishwasher pods might help minimize "leftovers" and "stubborn sludge" in the tank ... seems like a reasonable question. I too use The Geo Method when I service my tanks and although I've never thought of using dishwasher pods I may try some Dawn detergent this season in place of powdered detergent I had been using. And why? ... because I can, without approval from anyone. :B
