Do I 'need' a WB 160"-175" for a 30'TT?

For the person asking about wheel base to trailer ratio, goes something like this.
110" minimum WB to tow a trailer max 20'
Add a foot in length per 4" of WB.

While I understand it, it's like a lot of rules of thumb, can be taken wrong. Really, a minimum WB to tow? Better not tell that to folks I see towing trailer behind their Honda Goldwings. Including a former moderator on here. Those trailers are well within size ratio of the bike.
You can tow longer and heavier with the same WB with a stronger chassis, springs tires etc. IE a rig with 6000 lbs give should not tow what a 12k give rig will do.
Another ratio one should add to equation is hitch overhang vs center of rear axle. If you have 6' of over hang vs 4', you will have the potential for more towing issues, IE fish tail sway etc. If you are over the RA, like a 5W/ gooseneck, you can tow safer per say a longer trailer tha6' of OA.
To me, while the ratio is good, it's not perfect by any stretch, should not be taken at full strength, you have to follow or you will die type thing.

To the OP, you’re good. That trailer would be fine behind most half tons of the last 15 years. A short bed 3/4 ton is ideal.

6500-7000 pounds loaded 32' overall (+18" with extended cargo tray) is not problem for my 131"WB Suburban. Use a WDH with integrated sway control and a far overcapacity 3/4 ton pickup should be fine for your TT. Enjoy!

My TT is 25' ball to bumper and weighs just over 6K ready to camp. TV is a GMC 2500HD standard cab 8' bed with a 138" wheelbase. Have towed over 20K miles with zero problems.

My 2016 Regular Cab with 8' bed RAM CTD is not happy!:(

These trucks are uncommon, true. but available. And we have lots of room behind the seats for storing groceries and stuff. With the wide rear window I have great over-the-shoulder visibility ... much better than my previous F150 SuperCab.

I love the short wheelbase, 140", and tight turning radius (parking is a cinch, and all the space the 8' bed provides. And then there's the higher payload.

The RAM 2500 RegCab is only available in the lower trims. But SLT with the Lux option is more than enough for us. It only seats 3 people (best to have an auto with col shifter), but does heat up and cool down faster than the larger cabs.

We love ours.

EDIT: And no problem towing our 28' trailer. We do use an Equal-I-Zer hitch to help control sway. Tried it once on a windy day without, and while the 8500# trailer was blown around, the truck was stable.

if it was a 5th wheel.. a semi is very short..to its trailer.

but a bumper pull.. a little difference... but WDH and sway control... and newer trucks have Yaw control..

the down side... if setup is wrong.. it becomes the Tail waging the dog...
and here the longer truck frame has a little better chance of some control

I have a Supercab long bed.. because I park a 8 foot motorcycle in the bed of truck and pull a 30 foot bumper pull travel trailer..
7,000 miles a year....

I`m towing a 35ft TT with an Excursion with a 137" wheel base. the biggest factor is a properly setup WD hitch with built in sway control. I`m running a Reeses Dual Cam and its a comfortable tow.

Yeah, longer wheel base is good for towing but not a deal breaker for what you describe.

On a side note an extended or crew cab pickup is generally a lot more comfortable to travel in than a standard cab truck as you don't have that rear window right behind your shoulder.
