Just for fun. Was wondering what you folks do with regards to hanging lights from you awning. I love my lights and as you can see in the pict. below I have a table dimer $10 from the Home Depot for late night ambiance. For supper I turn em up a bit. I really like to roll up the awning at a moment's notice and also each night before bed so lately I haven't been putten em on unless dinner is ready after dark. Anyway just curious what ya all do. When we hit the road GF was so excited about getting awning lights so we shopped around until she find just the right ones to go with our motif/lifestyle/adventure.I spent couple hours hanging the lights, running wiring getting it just right......looked gooooooood!Then storm blew in, wind picked up and I ripped the lights down just in time to get awning retracted and saved for damage.That was the end of awning lights!!!!!!!!! Put a 'blue blub' in porch light and called it gooooooood after that :B

No awning lights for me. I want to be able to retract my awning in seconds if the wind blows up or when we leave many times I will retract the awning. DW doesn't like it, but I've told her too bad.

I'm right there with ya. We were at the river in AZ and a massive thunder storm blew in. Ran back to camp and had two people holden the awning while I was ripping down the lights to roll up the awning. Out here however 90% of the time weather isn't an issue but it's good piece of mind to roll it up before bed and when away. I found myself putting up and taking down lights 5 times a trip.

We use the large globe lights like you have. Use the Rollumup Velcro hangers. I also rigged a dimmer system. I use 60 watt bulbs but rarely have them turned up beyond 50%. I keep an eye on the weather and break it down if I know we are going to get wind. I can have the lights off in less than 2 minutes.

I hang them when I'm sure the weather is good and we aren't leaving the area.

SANY1149 by , on Flickr[/img]We've got a single string of "Coleman Lantern" flickering lights. We put them up whenever we can, and hold them up with CLOTHESPINS! It adds to the campy look, and comes down in about 10 seconds. Here in the South, these are called "festive lights," and indicate we're friendly, and open to visitors. Stop by and say hello!

One of the features that I like most about my LED Light Strip is the
"OFF/ON" switch. When we are sitting around the campfire or looking at stars, it is easy...OFF. Setting up camp in the dark, it is easy, just turn them ON. Also, I have been told that the LED's do not attract mosquitos like an incandescent light, but I will need to report back on that after our Summertime tours. JH :)

Yes. thanks from me too! Those are what I am looking for. are they good quality? the price is right, but I remember those being over $100! I may have to ask for those for Christmas!

The price is cheap, and it's good quality. I have it on our current TT and love it so much!

I have that on my current TT, and it's really cool! We have been approached by camping friends and neighbors who would ask us where we got it. No, you don't have to take it down to roll up the awning. The strip is flat.

After driving around the boondock area for 30 minutes looking for our TT we now have a string of LED lights that Hubby runs up a pole. We turn them off when it gets late.

DW thinks the awning lights are tacky; at least the little red plastic lanters that came with the TT. I put a LED strip on the side of the TT under the awning and that gives us plenty of light if we need it.
