Do you leave your diesel running ...?
I see many diesel drivers who leave the engine running while fueling (or other short-term occasions). For a while, I asked why they did that, just to see what their reason was. Never got the same answ...

Mainly I just let it run if it's hot or cold like most people have posted.
A few years ago I was pumping diesel and a guy on the other side of the pump told me he always turns his car off when he's pumping gas. I told him "I was happy for him" and then minded my own business.
