I leave mine running with the exhaust brake on at all times when fueling or stopping for a restroom break. Other than that it get's shut down right after I stop.
Does leaving the exhaust brake on when leaving the truck at idle cool off the turbo more quickly than with the exhaust brake left off? And if so, how?
No it creates heat in the Turbo! This is why many use the EB as a warmup aid. If I forget to turn off my EB, when I stop the EGT is about 600 degrees.
With my 98 12V I would turn off the EB to help it cool faster.
