- scottzExplorerWe use our sliding window all the time. Typically the coolest and driest air comes from that window when fan is running.
I wish I had a sliding rear window in my truck so I could place a boot between TV and Camper for cross ventilation while driving. - dadwolf2ExplorerSince my camper is left on the truck most of the time, I use the sliding window when I go to the home improvement store and get: 10' PVC pipe, or 2x4's or... Other than that it's not used and I cover it with 1/4" birch plywood.
- sabconsultingExplorerI've never used mine and my truck doesn't have a matching pass-through window. I have curtains on the camper window and they stay closed as does the lower blinds on the rear door, so it doesn't even get used for reversing.
Maybe in warm weather we should think about opening it for more ventilation, but because I tend to stuff things between the camper and the back of the cab I probably wouldn't get much ventilation either.
Steve. - kohldadExplorer IIIEvery night for ventilation. Crack it and an overhead so I don't have condensation problems.
When it's raining, I can open it all the way up then turn on the fantastic fan. Though I don't have a max cover, the outflow of air keeps the rain and splash at bay.
If I didn't have it, I would have to make a screen to cover one of the access doors and it wouldn't be nearly as convenient. - popeyemthExplorerCan't reach mine to pass stuff with my extended cab truck .
- BradWExplorer IIWe use ours a lot. Ventilation (especially when raining), dog, we sometimes run a 12v table fan in the camper off the truck dash plug to save the camper battery, etc.
- dakonthemountaiExplorerI very seldom use mine, but I do like the fact it will open. It's too small to climb through. Beings as I also have big dogs, and there is not a lot of room in the camper, at night they sleep in the back seat of the truck and I can reach through to give them a little love, etc. and wake them up for morning constitution. It's much more comfortable for them than trying to squeeze on the floor and stepping over them during the night. They are with me during the day. I don't leave it open though, as there is no screen and the bugs get in. I also use it, as noted, to see through the camper while driving/backing.
Dak - RickWExplorer IIII use the sliding window for ventilation with the air to air heat exchanger,
I also have a charging cable to connect to my converter to charge a trolling motor battery that goes out the sliding window,
Additionally, I can see behind me through the window when backing, especially if the TC door is open,
And finally, and most important, my wife calls me to dinner through that window! :B - Capeman1ExplorerInstead of taking my 11 year old, 90 lb dog out of the crew cab, temporarily sometimes when parked eating lunch etc, we keep the window open to talk to him and feed him goodies..he loves it.It works great Also in the summer he stays in the AC cab...
- RZAR66ExplorerI use mine to change lanes or when backing up. I can see all the way though the camper to the lower back door window using the rear veiw mirror. I also added one of those stick on fish eye lens to the back door and can see the lane behind me as well as the two lanes on either side. I call it the poor mans back up camera.
