- Reddog1Explorer III doubt you would have any fridge issues, if you turned it off while traveling. I have had mine off when traveling, and according to my thermometers everything stayed cold or frozen. My only issue was remembering to turn the fridge back on when camped. I will not run my fridge on 12-volts, been there and done that.
I provided a link to several of those "big curved covers ". - languiduckExplorer

what about the front pass threw window and one side window to keep air flowing?
I am lucky my fridge has never gone out yet!
Sorry to ask this OT question but since it was mentioned twice I have to ask...isn't running the fridge off 12V good enough while moving on the road? Yes, I understand about how the 12V works and keeping it isolated when the engine is off, etc. I'm doing that. If I'm already precooled, won't it maintain?
On the open window thing, I'm still figuring things out so take what I say for what it's worth; I have traveled with a front window open just a bit and the bathroom roof vent open just a hair. Seems like it keeps things fresh and aired out to me. I was worried about the roof vent being cracked open but it seems ok. I figured maybe I'd get one of those big curved covers for it if I have a problem later on. - bobmanExplorerPut them both back there

My primary vent is my bathroom vent. The bathroom vent allows very little dust to get in the TC.
I have a Roof Vent Cover over my bathroom. I have the Fan/Mate Rain Cover for High-Powered Ceiling Fan. It works with or without a fan. It is designed in such a way, I seldom close the vent itself. When open, no problem with wind, rain, or snow. No problem open while on the road.
I also have a Window/Maxx vent cover for the dinning table side window. It allows me to leave the window open up to 4-inches for ventilation. Like the Fan/Mate Rain Cover, when open, no problem with wind, rain, or snow. No problem open while on the road. I seldom totally close the window.
Not only do these two vent covers work well for general ventilation, they provide an air flow. When I use my Wave3 heater, I leave the vents open a little as well as a cab over window open about an inch. I loose very little heat, and have very good cross ventilation. - ADA6969Explorerkohldad, so i have a std cab.... i have told my girl friend of 10 years she had to ride in the back so the dog has a/c that did not go over so well, i wiil take the advise and do the windows open about an inch, thanks
- kohldadExplorer IIIOpen the front pass windows about an inch. That area is pressurized from the air being forced under the cab over. The open one in the rear side about an inch. It actually has a slight vacuum on it. You will be amazed at how much air goes through those little gaps.
You don't need to open up all the windows to get good drafts, but you may have to adjust as some and play around with which ones you open. Each truck/TC combo creates it's own unique pressurized and vacuum zones.
Alternatively and what a lot of folks do is let the dog ride up front in the A/C cab. - ADA6969Explorerwhat about the front pass threw window and one side window to keep air flowing?
