Driving with your hazard flashers on

We had a new truck go into limp mode when towing home in 06. I hit the flashers and drove on at a low speed because an exit was coming up. As we pulled off I-10 a red flash came into view. He told me do not use your flashers and drive. Pull to the side of the road and call for a wrecker. Think about that for a half second when no shoulder to get off the road. He also told me he would have done the same.

Up in the Rockies you see it all the time. Unless you have a sports car or MC you are not going to maintain a decent speed descending these passes. Commercial vehicles are required by law to use 4 way flashers when going 15 or more miles under the speed limit. If the driver of an RV doesn't feel comfortable without flashers for his lower speed I would not call him stupid. I would call him PRUDENT!!!

As far as the guy running his flashers all the time for 3 weeks I would call the police!! He is a danger to public safety. He obviously knows his vehicle needs repaired yet keeps using it. Needs cited for faulty equipment and unsafe lane changes for starters!! Can't afford to fix it so more than likely has no insurance.

I've used the flashers once when my 5th Wheel didn't have running lights at night. I couldn't fix the issue at a near by truck stop and finished the last hour of driving with the flashers on so I could make it to my campground.

I've grown up in states where the flashers are only used during an emergency but when I lived in Alabama for a year, they used them for whenever it rains. It was annoying at first until I finally just accepted it as normal there.

I have turned on my four ways during heavy rain, fog or snow and coming up on a traffic jam. If I were pulled over I would ask them why they use their flashers? It is to be seen and in heavy rain, fog or snow it is very hard to see the vehicle in front of you. But then I also do not drive like a madman in those conditions either.

I understand that my comment about the mirror was directed at the person calling you an idiot. Kind of like his other posts and if this person can't afford to fix their vehicle then they need to find another mode of transportation. This what if BS is really dumb and as for someone calling the police on me or someone in my family if your not doing anything wrong then call away.

Maybe he's like me. I'm completely deaf in my right ear. If you're on the right side of me and don't have an air horn, you could lay on your horn all day and I wouldn't hear it.

I get off the exit and can get up next to him. Try to tell him he's got a flat. Turn on my amber beacon lights, laying on the horn next to him to get his attention. He never looked over.....

I was being sarcastic with that comment. I didn't expect anyone to know. I was however looking for opinions on why he may be doing it everyday.
