In regards to the tire issue, it's not as big a deal as some make it out to be. The rear tires on a dually last much longer under load compared to a SRW because there is half the weight on each tire. I noticed this right away when towing long distances with my first dually. Also, a dually takes 17" tires which are considerably cheaper than the 18" or 20" tires on many SRW's these days.
