I was in the market for a used diesel truck and had never considered a dually as our bumper tow weighed only 6,000#. I found a good deal on one and said "why not". Still don't need it as our 5er is only 10,000# and we could get by with SRW. However, I'm not going back, I like the dually. Sure, I have to walk farther in parking lots and sometimes it stays home while we take the other smaller vehicle. The better tow is worth it and I like driving it.
As far as automatic car washes are concerned; if you are buying used you get a vehicle that doesn't have micro scratches all over it. Not a bad thing.
