Wow, in your ENTIRE LIFE, from childhood till now, you were never envious of ANYTHING.. Congrats, you are a special person. As a kid I was envious of a lot of things, bicycles, ball gloves, etc..
I think my post... stating pinweight and weight of my 5er pretty well spelled it out that I "NEEDED" a 1 ton dually to tow my 5er with safely. A SRW truck, even a 3500 towing my 5er loaded would have overloaded the truck.
No "truck envy"... whatever that means? If one is going to tow heavy, they'll need to get the truck for it... If I was towing a 5er with a GVWR OF 15-15.5 K, I might have purchase a 3500 SRW truck, if I was sure I wouldn't go over the trucks GCWR or its RAWR.
So in my case I Needed a dually for 5er with GVWR of 19K. Plain and simple. Heck, Some people would tell you that you needed a MDH or a HDH to tow my 5er... NOT!!
Why do you question the reason people Purchase a certain kind of truck.. Seems to be you're just wanting to be argumentative or YOU are envious of those that own a dually. If that's what they want, but don't need it, it's their business, it's their money, their truck .
