Eagle Cap quality?

My 2016 EC 960 has been a great camper so far. A few minor issues early on which they allowed me to have repaired through a local repair place without having to to drive back to the dealer.

I have a 2014 Adventurer 910 DB and have hand no issues with the slide and I have used it a lot. I like the slide . Smooth with good speed. No issues with tanks at all. Camped in 15 degree weather a few times and was toasty warm. Satisfied owner here.

We had an Adventurer 80RB and while we really liked the camper, mostly for the floor plan and interior, we had a major problem with the grey tank install from the factory. To complicate matters, the black & grey tanks were only 5 gallons each. I get that as it is an effort to reduce weight. The problem is that since the first time we emptied the grey tank, the panel indicator showed 1/3 full afterward. I thought this strange as it was unlikely that the sensor was dirty since it was a grey tank and never been used before. We found that the tank would easily fill up within a day of conservative usage. We'd empty the tank and it always showed 1/3 full afterward. As I looked into it, I discovered that the tank had been installed at an angle with the outlet pointing up slightly. If I drove the truck up onto the leveling ramps with the front wheels, it would tilt the truck sufficiently to drain the entire tank. This was a HUGE inconvenience. We basically had to live with a 3.5 gallon grey tank. It was extremely tight in the compartment and no way for me to affect an adjustment without major surgery.

I have a 2009 EC 995 (La Grande, OR. second generation builder-owner Chris Epp), and I can say now with likely 125k mi on the camper, and having lived in it for about 6 mos, the quality has held up very well and overall has been good, thanks to the use of quality build materials, including one-piece sheet fiberglass sidewalls (no luan or filon), and fiberglass front and rear full caps...

(Note: Chris was also the owner of Canada’s former Okanagan campers. It was Okanagan’s creative product planners who developed the 995, 1160 and later the ‘over-the-rail’ (OTR) floor plans leading to the revised OTR 1160 (and later the 1165))...

In about 2011-12 Chris sold EC to his brother, Adventurer builder-owner James Epp in Yakama, WA. Thus, the third build generation...James reported that EC would become Adventurer’s quality line, but gone is the one-piece fiberglass sidewalls and end caps, and now with the same luan-filon as Adventurer...Filon atop of (no rot) Azdel composite sidewalls would seem to be a fair compromise, but from what I can tell, it appears that the ‘higher end’ EC is now built on the same line as Adventurer with similar if not the same build and materials... I will say that of all the changes James has made, the only one that I might prefer is the much better aluminum rear bumper rather than moulded-in fiberglass bumper, but the latter has served me well (though difficult to attach things to)...

BTW, tanks in the second generation (La Grande, OR. Build) are uber secure and rest on wooden sleepers which provide for warm air circulation...I hope that the loose tanks in the video clip are an anomaly only...JMHO

I own a 2013 EC 950 that was actually manufactured in late 2012.

I had the entire front cap delaminate from the bottom ( the part just over the cab ). They completely removed the cap and replaced it at the factory. They also did some modifications for me gratis for my inconvenience.

My grey water and black water tanks also sit on the same styrofoam but not as loose as the video you took.

I've taken that camper all over the country, paved and dirt roads and have not had any tank or plumbing issues.

Now had I noticed that BEFORE I purchased the camper I would have the same concern as you. You might want to call EC and hear their explanation for their install.

There have been numerous complaints I have read online regarding the schwintek slides.

What are we looking at?

No the video was taken at the local dealer, it is looking in the front access under the pass through window. It looks like the only thing holding the tanks in place are the inlets and outlets and the insulation. With them empty they will be bouncing all over and eventually I would think causing a leak on the piping connections.
