If you time it right, Hwy 97 through Oregon can be O.K. but be careful.
As mentioned before, there won't be many places to RV park in Spokane.
I'm not doubting your driving ability at all, but in all honesty, I would motel it when visiting Spokane. Come on up in summer--it's beautiful here!!!!!!
If you do end up needing a RV campground in Spokane in January, it looks like a new one on the north side near where Nevada street connects to highway 2, just across the road from Frank's diner. I have not stayed there (we live in the area), but there are trailers there now with the cold and snow (little bit last night).. a quick phone call would answer questions about January stays.
