engine oil level
I have an '03 Ford with the 6.0 diesel. At oil change time the level is higher than it should be. The dipstick is not milky like there is water or coolant getting in. Can this be fuel getting in somehow?

many quick lube places just dump it in... till stick is full or more.
they use a pump from a storage tank.. not containers..
and there hose gage. is knocked and banged all the time and never calibrated.

I agree with this method. If you are "making" a couple quarts of oil, you will be able to smell the fuel. Not to mention.... it's really the feasible cause.
If you are lucky and its just a single injector, you may be able to pinpoint the leaky one doing a cylinder contribution test. However, It may be more than one, and it can also be caused by a leaky fuel supply fitting.
Either way, you will have to tear into the motor. While you are into all that labor to access either the injectors or the supply fittings. And it that situation, it would be a good idea to consider replacing any parts that will be accessible during the operation. But, that can become a very expensive slippery slope.
Have you every thought about a Cummins 5.9L conversion?- Agree with the lab tests. However you might have been overfilled when it was changed. My "Quality Plus" Ford dealer put in 2-1/4 quarts too much of the wrong oil at my first oil change.

X whatever the count is now!- There is a home test you can do. Take a white paper towel and let a drop of warm oil drip off the dipstick onto it. Look carefully. If there is a lighter shade of oil surrounding a darker center, like a halo.... That is diesel seperating from the oil on the towel.
