I don't think the OP was talking about slideouts but if the camper would slide out the back of the truck bed and land on the ground.
To OP I have never seen or heard of it but I'm sure it has happened some time or some place. I know I have seen pictures where the camper came off the bed of the truck but it was because of the truck trying to go under a low under pass and it hit the camper and pushed it out the back. One such location is an underpass in Billings, MT. It has had its share of trucks and RVs hit it.
