- Bionic_ManExplorerObviously problems going down hill, but I am sure they will get it worked out.
I thought it was respectable going up the pass, especially considering the MPG it got. - HybridhunterExplorerGee don't I feel silly lol.
- Cummins12V98Explorer IIII will say that was the BEST looking Ford truck I have seen for a while!
68K for a 1/2 ton, no thanks I paid less than that for my fully loaded LongHorn DRW.
EPA mileage did not look great, thought it would be higher. - spoon059Explorer II

that was disappointing, clearly it needs a proper exhaust brake and does not like being at the redline for 20 minutes at a time. I'd say there will be some software updates to fix this pretty quickly.
I'm confused why they WOULDN'T offer an exhaust brake on a diesel engine truck. Just cause Ram and Nissan didn't offer one in their small diesel's doesn't justify Ford also making a poor decision.
I'm sure whatever caused the malfunction will get closely looked at and figured out. A sustained downhill at high RPM's probably isn't the best for any engine. They'll figure out how to solve it. - FlashmanExplorer II

Wow, these guys are having a problem with the Fords they get.
Remember this one? :E
Maybe Ford should use these guys as testers? :B
Seems Ford is a flat land truck - you know like a drag strip. They don't do well in the mountains.
They derate the truck 2% for every 1000 ft elevation. - Turtle_n_PeepsExplorerWow, these guys are having a problem with the Fords they get.

Maybe the valves start floating at 4K RPM haha. - goducks10Explorer

I would think it was programmed to go limp before some nimrod let the thing over rev and scatter its innards over the highway?
Perhaps, but nobody ever wants to go limp.
LOL.... sounds like a personal problem

A big Fail - no other way to judge it.
Some folks don’t know whether to _____ or go blind!
All I’ve heard for years from most truck people including the rvnetters here is how no one wants the power wars and everyone wants better mileage and blah blah blah.
Now that super efficient decent power little diesels are coming out people want to complain about how they’re worthless grocery getters.......
Don't misread me. I am all for small diesels in cars or trucks.
Ford was the one that again over rated their trucks. - Grit_dogNavigator II
