Favorite TC Travel and camping pictures... how about yours

We have many.... 10 minutes earlier... we'd have been at the base of Devils Tower... 20 minutes later the Blue Angels would have been gone

Lucky sleepy and Janet... Janet was driving when she first saw them

  • We had shared the Devils Tower/Blue Angels pictures a few years ago... It was before the Trip reports were saved.

I think that there might be some some of our TC community that haven't seen them...

We hope to really encourage everyone to travel.... to actually slow down and look around... sometimes the best part of going is on the way, before you even get to your destination.

We often have MH's and 5'ers fly by us at high speed... eyes on the check list.... checking off the advertized special places on a list.... the list they had their eyes glued to all the way.

Think about it... "Truck Camper people have the opportunity to see the world from the inside out.... to see the back side of the trees along the highways and by-ways of the country."

Ask Janet what she said when we were in the Avenue of the Giants... being blown off the road as "they" passed us at 55 mph or higher.

We were eating Salmon Berries as fast as we could pick them from bushes up a side road...

We would have never known that there was something called Salman Berries if we hadn't explored the side road.... and put our feet on the ground.

We need you... all of you.... someone to share our excitement with as we discover and rediscover places.

    Chet
  • You and Janet were so lucky to be there at the right time to see and photograph the Blue Angels flying over Devils Tower. Those are wonderful photos that you took. Thanks for sharing.
  • We were on our way to the Devils Tower... Janet was driving and telling me about a movie called
"Close Incounters of a Third Kind" when she saw them cross in front of us....

We had no idea that we'd see them again and of course no one would believe us..."Angels over Devils Tower
    "... no way.

We ended up getting 36 pictures of them... and just over 20 minutes and they were gone.

The US Navy's Blue Angels were in Cheyenne, WY for an air show. This was a practice day or their arrival.

We were lster told by someone from the Park Service after we finely went on to the National Monument that the Blue Angels had come to Devils Tower to do a joint promotional film with the Devils Tower National Monument featuring both.

(Now we think the enployee at the Monument was guessing.... It was too good a show to shelve if there were any films of it... and we haven't seen any)

Visitors at the base of the 1200 foot tower didn't have our view... no one else stopped to see what we were looking at... their vehicles passed us going towards the tower, never giiving us a glance as we were parked on the side of the road...spell bound with the show, I guess they were just in too big a hurry to check the National Monument off of their list.
